We are currently seeking a highly qualified Deputy Associate Chief Counsel to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance to our agency on a wide range of complex issues.   1. Provide legal counsel and guidance to the ATF Bureau on complex legal issues related to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and explosives.
  2. Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision making and advise on potential legal implications.
  3. Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions related to the ATF's mission.
  4. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the agency's policies, procedures, and goals.
  5. Collaborate with other legal team members and agency staff to develop and implement strategies for legal issues.
  6. Draft legal documents, including opinions, memoranda, and briefs, accurately and in a timely manner.
  7. Represent the ATF in court proceedings, as needed.
  8. Provide training and guidance to agency staff on legal matters.
  9. Work closely with law enforcement officials and other government agencies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
  11. Participate in meetings and discussions with agency leadership to provide legal insights and recommendations.
  12. Serve as a subject matter expert on legal issues related to the ATF's mission.
  13. Assist in drafting and reviewing legislation and regulations related to the agency's mission.
  14. Advise on risk management and mitigation strategies.
  15. Attend and participate in relevant conferences and seminars to stay current on legal developments and best practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School

  • Admission To The Bar In At Least One State Or The District Of Columbia

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Practicing Law, With A Focus On Regulatory Or Administrative Law

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, And Explosives

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills, With Experience Managing A Team Of Attorneys And Overseeing Complex Legal Matters.
