
Aircraft Mechanic
Alaska Airlines is looking for an experienced, motivated Aircraft Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our aircraft are in safe and airworthy condition. You will be expected to accurately assess and repair components, systems, and structures of aircraft to ensure they meet all FAA regulations and standards. The ideal candidate for this position should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an aircraft mechanic and a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. You should have a strong understanding of the principles of aircraft structures, propulsion and powerplant, as well as a thorough knowledge of applicable FAA regulations. You should be highly organized, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to communicate effectively with other members of the maintenance team. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on aircraft components, systems, and structures in accordance with applicable FAA regulations and standards.
- Diagnose, inspect, and test aircraft components to identify defects and ensure airworthiness.
- Troubleshoot aircraft systems and components to determine and repair malfunctions.
- Follow specified safety procedures when performing repairs and maintenance.
- Effectively communicate maintenance issues to other members of the maintenance team.
- Effectively use hand tools and specialized equipment to repair and maintain aircraft components.
- Monitor and document aircraft maintenance activities.
- Ensure that all work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations and industry best practices.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and innovations in the aviation industry.
