Strategic Inventory and Supply Chain Specialist

This role will be responsible for understanding our inventory and stocking needs while working to reduce inventory levels and resolve storage constraints. Rationalize inventory levels at ALAS-Newport and ALAS-Woburn, with the overall goal of reducing Capital employed. Evaluate and define the optimal inventory levels and restocking frequency for key raw materials and subassemblies to meet manufacturing requirements while taking into account supplier constraints, minimizing supply chain risks and reducing footprint and capital employed. Lead process improvements related to Oracle inefficiencies in the Manufacturing Operations by working with all stakeholders to streamline requests and resolution of the issues. Lead efforts to resolve warehouse storage issues, by collaborating with the warehouse team to understand business needs, performing cost benefit analysis of both internal and external options and negotiating storage contracts with nearby facilities. Support various procurement activities. Issue requests for quotes and analyze responses from suppliers on assigned products and services. Negotiate the requirements and complete timely and accurate placement of purchase requisitions in accordance with the ALAS requirements of internal customers and the approved supplier list.
