  1. Write clear, accurate, and persuasive letters and other written materials for our members regarding their healthcare coverage.
  2. Review and audit letters and other written materials to ensure they adhere to industry regulations and accurately convey important information to our members.
  3. Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in all written materials.
  4. Utilize excellent writing and editing skills to ensure all written materials are professional and error-free.
  5. Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and guidelines to ensure all written materials are in compliance.
  6. Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and ensure timely delivery of written materials.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to gather necessary information and ensure accuracy in written materials.
  8. Utilize healthcare terminology and knowledge to accurately convey important information in written materials.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information in all written materials.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusivity in all written materials.
  11. Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address any issues or discrepancies in written materials.
  12. Adhere to Aetna's policies and procedures for writing and reviewing written materials.
  13. Act as a resource for team members and other departments regarding writing and editing best practices.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and provide suggestions for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of written materials.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have An Active And Unrestricted Registered Nurse License To Practice In The Relevant State. This Will Ensure That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Experience To Accurately Assess And Write Letters In Accordance With Medical Guidelines.

  • Clinical Experience: A Candidate For This Role Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience As A Registered Nurse. This Experience Will Provide Them With A Strong Foundation In Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Standards Of Care, Which Are Crucial For Writing Accurate And Detailed Letters.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Coding And Billing: Understanding Medical Coding And Billing Is Essential For This Role As The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Reviewing And Auditing Medical Bills And Claims. Having A Working Knowledge Of Cpt, Icd-10, And Hcpcs Codes Will Be Highly Beneficial.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Letter Writer/Auditor, The Candidate Will Be Communicating With Various Healthcare Providers, Insurance Companies, And Other Stakeholders. Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Convey Information And Address Any Concerns Or Discrepancies.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Critical For This Role. The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Reviewing And Analyzing Medical Records, Bills, And Other Documentation To Ensure Accuracy And Compliance. A Keen Eye For Detail Will Help Prevent Errors And Ensure The Highest Quality Of Work.
