Job Description

AeroVironment is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Director of Systems and Hardware Engineering to join our innovative and forward-thinking engineering team. We are searching for a results-driven leader to lead the development of AeroVironment’s products and systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in driving hardware and systems engineering projects to completion and will bring a combination of technical and leadership skills to the table.The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and at least 10 years of experience in leading hardware and systems engineering projects. In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles, systems engineering processes, and hardware design and development is essential. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of hardware and systems engineering tools, such as 3D CAD modeling, FPGA design, circuit simulation, and debugging.The Director of Systems and Hardware Engineering will have excellent communication skills, be a creative problem-solver, and be able to effectively manage and motivate a team of engineers. The successful candidate will also have the ability to think strategically and make decisions that will have a positive impact on the business. Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development of AeroVironment's products and systems.
  2. Manage and motivate a team of engineers.
  3. Ensure that hardware and systems engineering projects are completed in a timely manner.
  4. Utilize hardware and systems engineering tools, such as 3D CAD modeling, FPGA design, circuit simulation, and debugging.
  5. Make decisions that will have a positive impact on the business.
  6. Develop and implement strategies to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  7. Oversee the design and development of hardware and systems.
  8. Ensure that all team members are working towards the same goals.
  9. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the hardware and systems engineering process.
  10. Monitor progress and identify potential areas of improvement.
