- Prepare Operating Room: The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, which includes sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist Surgeons: The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing other tasks as needed.
- Ensure Patient Safety: It is the responsibility of the Surgical Technologist to maintain a sterile environment in the operating room and follow proper infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients.
- Sterilization and Inventory Management: The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments, as well as keeping track of inventory and ordering necessary supplies.
- Documentation: The Surgical Technologist will accurately document all procedures, patient information, and supplies used during surgeries.
- Team Collaboration: The Surgical Technologist will work closely with other members of the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Patient Care: The Surgical Technologist will provide direct patient care, such as positioning and prepping patients for surgery, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.

Education And Certification: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, As Well As Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program. Certification Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa) Is Also Preferred.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Instrumentation, And Equipment Is Essential For A Surgical Technologist. This Includes Knowledge Of Aseptic Techniques, Sterilization Methods, And Surgical Anatomy.
Attention To Detail: Surgical Procedures Require A High Level Of Precision And Attention To Detail. A Qualified Surgical Technologist Must Be Able To Anticipate The Needs Of The Surgeon And Maintain A Sterile Field Throughout The Procedure.
