Job Description

As a Sr. Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications to our patients.   1. Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications to patients in a timely and accurate manner.
  2. Maintain a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical products, including generic and brand names, indications, and dosages.
  3. Utilize computer systems to enter and retrieve patient and medication information.
  4. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient medication delivery.
  5. Maintain inventory levels and assist in the ordering and stocking of medications.
  6. Monitor and record patient medication information, including allergies and adverse reactions.
  7. Follow all protocols and procedures for handling and storing medications to ensure patient safety.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, addressing any questions or concerns.
  9. Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians in job duties and procedures.
  10. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and optimize processes for increased efficiency.
  12. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge of current pharmacy practices and regulations.
  13. Collaborate with insurance companies and third-party payers to process prescription claims.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow all HIPAA guidelines.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of AdventHealth and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht) - The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Valid Cpht Certification From A Recognized Institution, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Expertise In Pharmacy Practices And Regulations.

  • Prior Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting - A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Pharmacy Technician In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting Is Typically Required For A Sr. Pharmacy Technician Role At Adventhealth. This Ensures The Candidate Is Familiar With The Unique Challenges And Responsibilities Of Working In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills - As A Sr. Pharmacy Technician, The Candidate Will Be Required To Work Closely With Pharmacists, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effective Collaboration And Teamwork.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmacy Software And Technology - Adventhealth Uses Advanced Pharmacy Software And Technology To Manage Medication Orders And Inventory. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Working With These Systems And Possess A Strong Aptitude For Learning New Technology.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy - With Patient Safety Being A Top Priority, A Sr. Pharmacy Technician Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have A High Level Of Accuracy In Their Work. This Includes Accurately Filling Prescriptions, Managing Inventory, And Maintaining Patient Records.
