Senior Pharmacist

1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including supervising and mentoring other pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
2. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use for patients.
3. Review and verify medication orders, including dosages, interactions, and potential allergies, to ensure accurate and appropriate treatment for patients.
4. Provide medication counseling and education to patients, including proper usage, potential side effects, and precautions.
5. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies, and work with pharmacy purchasing to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
6. Stay up-to-date on new medications, therapies, and regulations in the pharmacy field, and implement any necessary changes to ensure compliance and best practices.
7. Develop and implement medication safety protocols and procedures to minimize errors and promote patient safety.
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining pharmacy accreditation and compliance with regulatory standards.
9. Provide support and guidance to other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related issues and concerns.
10. Serve as a resource for pharmacy information and knowledge, providing guidance and expertise to other pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
11. Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including medication profiles and drug therapy plans.
12. Lead by example in demonstrating AdventHealth's mission, values, and commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality healthcare to our patients.
13. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and communication among pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
14. Participate in performance evaluations and provide feedback to pharmacy staff, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
15. Adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy practice, as well as AdventHealth's policies and procedures.
