Job Description

  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the pharmacy department, including dispensing of medications, inventory management, and patient care services.
  2. Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective use of medications in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  3. Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, drug information, and patient counseling.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy for patients.
  5. Train, mentor, and supervise other pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  6. Conduct quality assurance and quality improvement activities to maintain high standards of patient care.
  7. Stay updated on advancements and changes in the field of pharmacy and implement best practices within the department.
  8. Participate in multidisciplinary committees and teams to improve patient outcomes and promote effective medication use.
  9. Manage and resolve any issues or concerns related to medication use, including adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
  10. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting agencies, such as the Joint Commission and CMS.
  11. Collaborate with other departments and leadership to develop and implement organization-wide initiatives related to medication safety and quality improvement.
  12. Serve as a role model for professional behavior and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
  13. Maintain accurate and complete records of all pharmacy activities, including medication orders, dispensing records, and inventory management.
  14. Assist with budget planning and control of pharmacy expenses.
  15. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy or other leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited School Of Pharmacy

  • Active Pharmacist License In The State Of Employment

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Licensed Pharmacist, With At Least 2 Years In A Leadership Or Supervisory Role

  • Board Certification In A Relevant Area, Such As Pharmacotherapy Or Ambulatory Care

  • Strong Clinical Knowledge And Experience In A Variety Of Pharmacy Practice Settings, Including Inpatient, Outpatient, And Specialty Pharmacy Services
