Job Description

  1. Provide compassionate and skilled care to patients in the Labor and Delivery or Postpartum unit.
  2. Utilize clinical expertise and knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in their condition.
  5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  6. Educate patients and their families on postpartum care and newborn care.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  12. Represent AdventHealth with professionalism and integrity.
  13. Travel to various AdventHealth facilities as needed to provide direct patient care.
  14. Adapt to different work environments and patient populations.
  15. Embrace diversity and cultural sensitivity in patient care.
  16. Maintain confidentiality and respect for patient privacy.
  17. Follow infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques.
  18. Provide emotional support to patients and families during a sensitive and vulnerable time.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position At Adventhealth. This Demonstrates A Strong Foundation In Nursing Knowledge And Skills.

  • Rn License: A Valid And Current Rn License Is A Must For This Job. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Legally Allowed To Practice Nursing And Is Up-To-Date With All Required Certifications.

  • Minimum 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery/Postpartum: Adventhealth Is Looking For Experienced Candidates Who Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery/Postpartum. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of The Specific Needs And Challenges Of These Departments.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications Are Required For This Position. These Certifications Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Handle Emergency Situations And Provide Care For Both Mothers And Newborns.

  • Travel Nursing Experience: Adventhealth Is Seeking Candidates With Previous Travel Nursing Experience. This Shows That The Candidate Is Adaptable, Flexible, And Able To Thrive In Different Healthcare Settings.
