- Conduct risk assessments: Conduct thorough and comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and risks within the healthcare facility.
- Develop risk management plans: Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate and prevent potential risks for patients.
- Monitor and analyze data: Monitor and analyze data related to patient safety incidents to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies for reducing risks and improving patient safety.
- Educate staff: Develop and deliver educational programs to staff on risk management strategies and best practices for ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- Investigate incidents: Conduct investigations into patient safety incidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to risk management and patient safety.
- Provide support and guidance: Provide support and guidance to staff and management on risk management issues and promote a culture of safety throughout the healthcare facility.
- Monitor and review policies and procedures: Monitor and review existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and effective in reducing risks.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends: Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in risk management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records: Maintain accurate and detailed records related to risk management activities and incidents.
- Communicate effectively: Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and risk awareness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and reduce risks.
- Attend trainings and conferences: Attend relevant trainings and conferences to stay current on risk management practices and regulations.
- Uphold ethical standards: Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information related to patient safety and risk management.
Active Rn License: A Qualified Candidate For A Rn, Risk Management Specialist Job At Adventhealth Must Hold An Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of Employment.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: Candidates Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field Such As Health Administration, Healthcare Management, Or Risk Management.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience: To Effectively Mitigate And Manage Risks, A Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Registered Nurse In A Healthcare Setting.
Certification In Risk Management: Candidates Should Have A Certification In Risk Management, Such As Certified Professional In Healthcare Risk Management (Cphrm), Or Be Willing To Obtain One Within The First Year Of Employment.
Strong Communication And Analytical Skills: A Successful Rn, Risk Management Specialist Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Healthcare Providers, Patients, And Other Stakeholders. They Should Also Possess Strong Analytical Skills To Identify And Assess Potential Risks And Develop Strategies To Mitigate Them.
