Job Description

  1. Provide compassionate and specialized care for patients facing cancer diagnoses in the Oncology Outpatient department.
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of patients and develop individualized care plans based on their specific needs.
  3. Administer treatments and medications as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Monitor patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their care plans.
  5. Educate patients and their families on cancer treatments, side effects, and self-care techniques.
  6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and comprehensive care for patients.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  9. Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in oncology to provide evidence-based care.
  10. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
  11. Advocate for patients' needs and rights.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for oncology care.
  13. Mentor and train new nursing staff.
  14. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License In The State Of Employment - The Candidate Must Possess A Current, Unrestricted Rn License From The State In Which They Will Be Working. This Ensures That They Have Met All Necessary Requirements To Practice Nursing In That State.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) - A Bsn Degree Is Preferred For This Position, As It Provides A More Comprehensive Education And Prepares Nurses For Advanced Roles And Responsibilities In The Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Oncology Nursing - The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Oncology Setting, Preferably In An Outpatient Setting. This Experience Will Ensure That They Are Familiar With The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Caring For Cancer Patients.

  • Ocn Certification - While Not Required, Having An Oncology Certified Nurse (Ocn) Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field Of Oncology Nursing. This Certification Is Highly Valued By Employers And May Give The Candidate An Advantage In The Hiring Process.

  • Bls And Acls Certification - Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For This Position. These Certifications Ensure That The Candidate Is Trained In Life-Saving Techniques And Is Prepared To Respond To Emergencies In The Outpatient Setting.
