Job Description

Welcome to AdventHealth! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As an RN in our NICU, you will have the opportunity to provide specialized care to our tiniest patients and their families. With state-of-the-art technology and a supportive team, you will play a crucial role in helping our NICU patients thrive.   1. Provide specialized and compassionate care to newborns in the NICU.
  2. Utilize state-of-the-art technology to monitor and assess patient's condition.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Monitor and document patient's progress and respond to any changes in condition.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  7. Educate and support families on caring for their newborns in the NICU and after discharge.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  10. Continuously assess and improve own clinical skills and knowledge.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in NICU care.
  12. Provide emotional support to families during difficult and uncertain times.
  13. Collaborate with community resources and other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients and families.
  14. Maintain a safe and clean work environment for patients and staff.
  15. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Candidate For An Rn, Nicu Position At Adventhealth Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory, Research, And Practice, Which Is Essential For Caring For Critically Ill Infants In The Nicu.

  • Registered Nurse (Rn) License: All Applicants Must Have A Valid And Current Rn License In The State Of Florida. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Minimum Education And Competency Requirements To Practice Nursing In The State.

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu) Experience: Adventhealth Is Looking For Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Nicu Setting. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Handle The Complex And High-Stress Environment Of A Nicu And Their Familiarity With Neonatal Equipment And Procedures.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications: Candidates Should Have Current Certifications In Bls And Nrp. These Certifications Show That The Candidate Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Is Prepared To Handle Emergency Situations In The Nicu.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Rn In The Nicu, It Is Essential To Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. This Includes The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Effectively Communicate With Parents And Families, And Provide Emotional Support During Difficult Situations.
