1. Provide exceptional and compassionate care to neonatal patients and their families in the NICU.
2. Utilize advanced nursing skills to assess and monitor the health status of neonatal patients, including vital signs, oxygen levels, and feeding patterns.
3. Administer medications and treatments prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and guidelines.
4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
5. Educate patients and their families on neonatal care, including proper feeding and developmental milestones.
6. Monitor and maintain equipment and supplies in the NICU, ensuring they are in good working condition for patient use.
7. Document patient care and progress accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
8. Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed and met.
9. Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members regarding patient status and changes in condition.
10. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients, families, and staff.
11. Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current on best practices and advancements in neonatal care.
12. Support and mentor new nurses and other team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
13. Provide emotional support and guidance to families during difficult and challenging times.
14. Continuously work to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction through quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices.
15. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
