Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory Technician I to join our team. This role is vital to our Respiratory Therapy department and requires an individual with a strong understanding of respiratory care and a passion for helping others.   1. Conduct respiratory therapy procedures: Perform various respiratory therapy procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders, including but not limited to oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
  2. Monitor patient progress: Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and response to treatments, documenting all findings accurately and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
  3. Maintain equipment: Ensure respiratory therapy equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution.
  4. Educate patients and families: Provide education and instruction to patients and their families on respiratory therapy treatments, techniques, and equipment. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  5. Assist with emergency situations: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations involving respiratory distress, following established protocols and providing immediate respiratory support as needed.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols: Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Maintain accurate records: Document all respiratory therapy procedures, treatments, and patient responses accurately and timely in patient records and other necessary documentation systems.
  8. Collaborate with healthcare team: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry standards: Stay current with changes and advancements in respiratory therapy and participate in continuing education and training programs to maintain knowledge and skills.
  10. Provide exceptional patient care: Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care by treating all patients with compassion, respect, and dignity. Strive to exceed patient expectations and continuously improve the quality of care provided.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Respiratory Technician I Must Hold A Current And Valid Certification As A Certified Respiratory Therapist (Crt) Or Registered Respiratory Therapist (Rrt) From The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).

  • Education: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Respiratory Therapy From An Accredited Institution Is Required For This Position. A Bachelor's Degree Is Preferred.

  • Experience: One Year Of Experience As A Respiratory Therapist In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Is Required. Experience With Neonatal And Pediatric Patients Is Preferred.

  • Knowledge And Skills: Strong Knowledge Of Respiratory Therapy Principles And Practices, As Well As Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Respiratory Equipment, Is Necessary For This Role. Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills Are Also Essential.

  • Licensure: Must Hold A Current And Valid State License As A Respiratory Therapist. Additional Certifications, Such As Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls), May Also Be Required.
