- Conduct sleep studies and monitor patients during sleep to obtain accurate data.
- Prepare and set up equipment for sleep studies, ensuring proper functioning and calibration.
- Educate patients on the sleep study process and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Administer sleep questionnaires and gather medical history from patients to help diagnose sleep disorders.
- Monitor and document patient responses and reactions during sleep studies.
- Recognize and respond to any medical emergencies that may occur during a sleep study.
- Analyze and interpret sleep study data to identify any abnormalities or potential sleep disorders.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of sleep studies, including patient information and test results.
- Stay updated on advancements in sleep medicine and technology to continuously improve patient care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients who may be anxious or uncomfortable during sleep studies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards set by the healthcare organization and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (Cpsgt) Or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (Rpsgt) Credential From The Board Of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (Brpt).
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Performing Sleep Studies And Scoring Results.
Knowledge Of Sleep Disorders And Treatments, Including Cpap And Bipap Therapy.
Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Polysomnography Equipment And Software.
Excellent Communication And Patient Care Skills, Including The Ability To Educate Patients On Proper Sleep Hygiene And Treatment Plans.
