
Registered Nurse, Wound Care Specialist

In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping patients heal from wounds, both acute and chronic, by providing comprehensive and evidence-based treatment plans. - Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans for patients, using evidence-based practices and in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Utilize specialized skills and knowledge in wound care to assess and manage patient's wounds, taking into consideration their medical history, current health status, and potential risk factors.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation, including wound assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques and provide support and resources for wound management at home.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest wound care treatments and technologies, actively seeking out opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
- Monitor and track patient outcomes, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal healing.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for wound care procedures.
- Act as a resource and mentor for other healthcare team members on wound care best practices and techniques.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, showing sensitivity to their physical and emotional needs.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Required For This Position, Showing A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Practices.
Active Rn License: A Current And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License Is A Must For This Role, Demonstrating The Necessary Knowledge And Expertise To Provide Patient Care.
Wound Care Certification: Adventhealth Requires Candidates For This Position To Hold Specialized Certification In Wound Care, Such As The Certified Wound Specialist (Cws) Or Certified Wound Care Nurse (Cwcn) Credentials.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Wound Care: Candidates Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, With A Focus On Wound Care. This Experience Should Demonstrate Proficiency In Assessing, Treating And Managing Wound Patients.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Wound Care Specialist, Effective Communication Is Essential In Collaborating With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Candidates Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Convey Information And Build Rapport With Patients.
