- Provide high-quality and compassionate care to patients recovering from surgery in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
- Utilize clinical expertise and knowledge to assess and monitor patients' post-operative conditions and provide appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide wound care as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition from the operating room to the PACU.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or questions.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Serve as an advocate for patients' needs and ensure their comfort and well-being throughout their PACU stay.
- Document all patient care accurately and thoroughly in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on current nursing practices and participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, professionalism, and teamwork in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the growth and success of the PACU department.
- Serve as a positive representative of AdventHealth and uphold its mission and values in all interactions.
Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Employment
Current Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Pacu Or Critical Care Nursing
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field (Preferred)
Ability To Work Flexible Hours, Including Weekends And Holidays, And Participate In On-Call Rotation Schedule
