1. Develop and implement educational programs and training materials for perioperative staff.
2. Conduct orientation and ongoing education sessions for new and existing perioperative employees.
3. Collaborate with the perioperative leadership team to identify and address educational needs.
4. Serve as a resource for staff, providing guidance and support in clinical practice.
5. Evaluate the competency of perioperative staff and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
6. Keep current with developments and advancements in perioperative nursing and incorporate this knowledge into education programs.
7. Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards related to perioperative education.
8. Mentor and support new nurses in the perioperative department.
9. Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to perioperative nursing practice.
10. Collaborate with other educators and healthcare professionals to provide interdisciplinary education opportunities.
11. Communicate and coordinate with perioperative managers to ensure educational goals align with departmental objectives.
12. Assist with the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives related to perioperative nursing practice.
13. Serve as a role model for professionalism and excellence in perioperative nursing.
14. Actively participate in professional development activities to maintain and enhance clinical and educational expertise.
15. Maintain accurate records of educational activities and staff competencies.
16. Provide support to perioperative staff during challenging situations or procedures.
17. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the perioperative department.
18. Collaborate with other clinical educators and departments to promote interdisciplinary education and collaboration.
19. Serve as a liaison between the perioperative department and educational institutions for student placements and clinical rotations.
