  1. Perform radiation therapy treatments on patients according to prescribed treatment plans.
  2. Monitor and assess patients' responses to treatment and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition.
  3. Work collaboratively with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatments, including patient information and treatment parameters.
  5. Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring safety and proper functioning at all times.
  6. Educate and prepare patients for radiation therapy procedures, including explaining potential side effects and answering any questions or concerns.
  7. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to protect patients, staff, and self from potential radiation exposure.
  8. Continuously stay updated on advancements and changes in radiation therapy technology and techniques.
  9. Provide emotional support and care to patients throughout their radiation therapy experience.
  10. Act as an advocate for patient rights and ensure their needs and concerns are addressed.
  11. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  12. Adhere to all compliance and regulatory standards, including HIPAA and radiation safety regulations.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of AdventHealth in all interactions with patients, team members, and the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Radiation Therapy Program: A Radiation Therapist At Adventhealth Must Have Successfully Completed An Accredited Program In Radiation Therapy. This Ensures That The Therapist Has Received Proper Training And Education In The Field.

  • Valid State Licensure: All Radiation Therapists At Adventhealth Must Hold A Valid State License To Practice. This Demonstrates That They Have Met The Necessary Requirements And Have Been Deemed Competent By The State Licensing Board.

  • Certification By The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt): The Arrt Is The National Certifying Body For Radiation Therapists. Adventhealth Requires Therapists To Hold Current Certification, Which Indicates That They Have Met National Standards For Knowledge And Skill In The Field.

  • Knowledge Of Treatment Planning Software: As Technology Continues To Advance In The Field Of Radiation Therapy, It Is Important For Therapists At Adventhealth To Have A Strong Understanding Of Treatment Planning Software. This Allows Them To Accurately Plan And Deliver Radiation Treatments To Patients.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Radiation Therapists At Adventhealth Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills. They Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals, And Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate In Order To Provide The Best Possible Care.
