  1. Perform blood draws and collect samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Label and process collected samples according to established protocols and procedures.
  3. Maintain accurate records of collected samples and ensure proper storage and transport to laboratory.
  4. Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure a clean and sterile work environment.
  5. Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or questions.
  6. Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies, reporting any malfunctions or discrepancies.
  7. Prioritize and organize tasks based on urgency and workload, ensuring timely completion of all blood draws and laboratory tasks.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of laboratory results.
  9. Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality regulations when handling patient information.
  10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and procedures, staying informed of any changes or updates in the field.
  11. Assist with other laboratory tasks, such as specimen processing and data entry, as needed.
  12. Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the laboratory.
  13. Adhere to all AdventHealth policies and procedures, including safety and compliance standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Phlebotomist: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Phlebotomist From A Recognized Agency Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Experience In Healthcare Setting: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Healthcare Setting Is Required. This Experience Should Include Proficiency In Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Processing.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And The Ability To Accurately Identify And Label Specimens To Ensure Proper Processing And Testing.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Phlebotomists Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Laboratory Staff. This Includes The Ability To Explain Procedures, Handle Patient Concerns, And Follow Proper Protocols For Specimen Collection And Transport.

  • Attention To Detail: Attention To Detail Is Crucial For A Phlebotomist To Ensure Accurate Specimen Collection And Labeling. Candidates Should Possess A High Level Of Accuracy And Precision In Their Work To Avoid Errors And Maintain Patient Safety.
