Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical role in our patients' healthcare journey by accurately collecting and processing blood samples. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.   1. Accurately collect and process blood samples from patients according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion while interacting with patients and their families.
  3. Adhere to infection control and safety procedures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of samples collected and processed.
  5. Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are stocked and maintained for efficient workflow.
  6. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure proper patient care.
  7. Follow all laboratory policies and procedures to maintain quality control and accuracy.
  8. Provide excellent customer service to patients by addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  9. Continuously monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy work area.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education to keep up-to-date with industry standards and advancements in phlebotomy.
  11. Show a willingness to assist in other areas of the laboratory as needed.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of AdventHealth and promote a positive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Program: A Phlebotomist At Adventhealth Must Have Completed A Formal Training Program In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Education And Training In The Field Of Phlebotomy.

  • Certification/Licensure: Candidates For A Phlebotomist Position At Adventhealth Must Possess A Valid Certification Or License In Phlebotomy. This Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Standards And Has The Required Knowledge And Skills To Perform Phlebotomy Procedures.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital, Clinic Or Laboratory, Is Often Preferred For A Phlebotomist Position At Adventhealth. This Experience Provides A Strong Foundation And Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry, As Well As Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Procedures.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Phlebotomist At Adventhealth, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Staff Members Is Essential. This Includes Active Listening, Empathy, And The Ability To Explain Procedures And Instructions Clearly.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Adventhealth Places A High Priority On Patient Safety And Accuracy In All Aspects Of Healthcare. Therefore, A Phlebotomist Must Possess Excellent Attention To Detail And Be Able To Accurately Follow Procedures And Protocols To Ensure The Proper Collection And Handling Of Blood Samples.
