  1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to surgical patients.
  2. Assist in surgical procedures and ensure the safety and comfort of patients.
  3. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  4. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team.
  5. Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
  10. Continuously update knowledge and skills in perioperative care.
  11. Follow infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  12. Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
  13. Provide emotional support to patients and families during their surgical experience.
  14. Document patient care accurately and timely.
  15. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  16. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of AdventHealth.
  17. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Perioperative Assistant Position At Adventhealth Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Knowledge And Critical Thinking Skills.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Certification: Adventhealth Values Candidates Who Have Obtained A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Certification. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Skill In Surgical Technology And Patient Care.

  • Previous Experience In A Perioperative Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience In A Perioperative Setting, Such As A Surgical Technologist Or Perioperative Assistant, Would Be Highly Preferred For This Position. This Experience Shows A Strong Understanding Of The Role And Responsibilities Of A Perioperative Assistant.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Adventhealth Requires All Employees To Have A Current Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Can Handle Emergency Situations In The Perioperative Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: A Perioperative Assistant At Adventhealth Needs To Work Closely With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Team Members. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential To Ensure Efficient And Effective Patient Care.
