- Greet and welcome patients and their families to the outpatient department with warmth and compassion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients, their families, and healthcare providers, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Schedule patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time and resources while accommodating patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, insurance information, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of patient care, including scheduling tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients and their families on the services and resources available to them at AdventHealth.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and guidelines, including patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain authorizations for treatments and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on ways to improve patient care and efficiency in the outpatient department.
- Continuously strive to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for all patients and their families.
- Stay updated on industry developments and advancements in patient care, and implement best practices as appropriate.
- Maintain a professional and caring demeanor at all times, reflecting the mission and values of AdventHealth.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as answering phones, filing paperwork, and managing patient records.
- Act as an ambassador for AdventHealth and promote our services and values to patients, their families, and the community.
Experience In Patient Care Coordination: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have Previous Experience In Coordinating Patient Care In An Outpatient Setting. This Could Include Experience In Scheduling Appointments, Managing Medical Records, And Communicating With Patients And Healthcare Providers.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Procedures: The Patient Care Coordinator Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations And Procedures In Order To Ensure Compliance And Provide High-Quality Care To Patients. This May Include Knowledge Of Hipaa Regulations, Insurance Policies, And Medical Terminology.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent Communication Skills Are Essential For A Patient Care Coordinator, As This Role Requires Frequent Communication With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Staff Members.
