- Greet patients and their families in a warm and welcoming manner, representing the values and mission of AdventHealth.
- Assist patients with understanding their healthcare benefits and financial options, ensuring they have the necessary information to make informed decisions about their care.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of insurance plans, coverage options, and reimbursement processes.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve any benefit or coverage issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and insurance information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure a seamless experience for patients.
- Remain up-to-date on changes and updates in healthcare laws and regulations, insurance plans, and reimbursement processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions.
- Perform financial counseling for patients, including discussing payment options, assisting with financial assistance applications, and answering billing-related questions.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
- Act as a resource for patients and their families, providing education and guidance on navigating the healthcare system.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance the patient experience and ensure efficiency.
- Collaborate with the billing and coding department to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
- Attend training and educational sessions to expand knowledge and skills related to patient benefits and insurance.
- Uphold the values and mission of AdventHealth in all interactions and responsibilities.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration Or Related Field
Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Medical Billing, Insurance, Or Patient Financial Services
Strong Knowledge Of Healthcare Insurance Plans, Including Medicare, Medicaid, And Commercial Plans
