- Educate patients on their insurance coverage and financial options to help them make informed decisions about their healthcare.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for services, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine the most appropriate treatment plans based on patients' insurance coverage.
- Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork and forms related to insurance coverage and billing.
- Answer any questions or concerns that patients may have regarding their insurance coverage or financial responsibility.
- Stay up-to-date on insurance policies and regulations to accurately advise patients and ensure compliance.
- Work closely with other departments, such as billing and coding, to resolve any insurance or billing issues.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures related to insurance and billing to enhance the patient experience.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with patients and their families to promote trust and satisfaction with AdventHealth.
- Attend training sessions and stay updated on industry changes and advancements related to insurance and healthcare billing.
- Display empathy and compassion towards patients and their families, providing emotional support when needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow in the patient benefit advising process.

Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Insurance Policies And Benefits: A Patient Benefit Advisor Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Different Insurance Policies And Benefits Offered By Adventhealth To Effectively Assist Patients In Understanding Their Coverage And Maximizing Their Benefits.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Patient Benefit Advisor, One Will Be Communicating With Patients, Insurance Companies, And Healthcare Providers On A Daily Basis. It Is Essential To Have Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Convey Information And Build Relationships.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Coding: In Order To Accurately Assess And Explain Insurance Coverage To Patients, A Patient Benefit Advisor Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Coding Systems.
Experience With Insurance Claims And Billing Processes: An Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Have Experience With Insurance Claims And Billing Processes, Including Submitting And Tracking Claims, Verifying Eligibility And Benefits, And Processing Payments.
