We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Access Representative. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and their families, providing them with exceptional customer service and support.   1. Greet and welcome patients and their families in a warm and friendly manner.
  2. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns patients may have.
  3. Accurately and efficiently register patients, ensuring all necessary information is collected and entered into the system.
  4. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.
  6. Collaborate with other departments within the hospital to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process.
  7. Educate patients on financial responsibilities and assist with payment arrangements when necessary.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  9. Continuously update and maintain patient records.
  10. Attend trainings and meetings to stay updated on hospital policies, procedures, and practices.
  11. Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring open communication and timely follow-up.
  12. Troubleshoot and problem solve any issues that may arise during the registration process.
  13. Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients and their families.
  14. Adhere to all hospital and departmental protocols and guidelines.
  15. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Patient Access Representative Must Possess Strong Communication Skills In Order To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Being Able To Listen Actively, Speak Clearly, And Write Concisely.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Systems: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Systems, Including Insurance Verification, Medical Terminology, And Billing Processes. This Knowledge Is Essential For Accurately Registering And Verifying Patients' Insurance Information.

  • Customer Service Experience: As The First Point Of Contact For Patients, A Patient Access Representative Must Have Previous Customer Service Experience. This Includes Being Able To Handle Difficult Situations With Empathy And Professionalism, And Ensuring That All Interactions With Patients And Their Families Are Positive.

  • Attention To Detail: The Job Of A Patient Access Representative Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail. They Must Be Able To Accurately Input And Verify Patient Information, And Ensure That All Necessary Paperwork Is Completed Correctly.

  • Multitasking Abilities: In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment, A Patient Access Representative Must Be Able To Prioritize Tasks And Handle Multiple Responsibilities Simultaneously. This Includes Answering Phone Calls, Scheduling Appointments, And Assisting Patients With Their Needs, All While Maintaining A Calm And Professional Demeanor.
