  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Register patients by collecting and verifying personal and insurance information
  • Schedule appointments and maintain accurate and up-to-date appointment records
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, family members, and healthcare professionals
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services
  • Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines
  • Provide excellent customer service and address any concerns or complaints from patients
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow
  • Proactively identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in patient information
  • Stay informed about current insurance plans and medical terminology to accurately assist patients
  • Attend training and meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, even in stressful situations.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Patient Access Representative Job At Adventhealth Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Is Able To Handle The Administrative Tasks Required For The Role.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Insurance Processes: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Insurance Processes Is Essential For A Patient Access Representative. This Includes Knowledge Of Different Insurance Plans, Coding And Billing Procedures, As Well As Understanding Medical Procedures And Terminology.

  • Experience In Customer Service And Healthcare Industry: A Background In Customer Service And/Or Previous Experience In The Healthcare Industry Is Highly Desirable For A Patient Access Representative. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills To Handle Patient Inquiries And Concerns In A Professional And Empathetic Manner.

  • Proficient In Computer Skills And Data Entry: A Patient Access Representative Will Be Required To Work With Various Computer Systems And Databases, So Proficiency In Computer Skills And Data Entry Is A Must. This Includes Knowledge Of Electronic Health Records And Other Healthcare Software.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Patient Access Representative, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Insurance Companies On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For This Role To Ensure Effective Communication And Collaboration With All Parties Involved.
