- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the registration system.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
- Schedule appointments for patients and assist with rescheduling or canceling appointments as needed.
- Explain hospital policies and procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have.
- Provide information on available payment options and assist with financial counseling as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely patient flow.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and strive to resolve any issues promptly.
- Perform general office tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Keep up-to-date on insurance regulations and changes in policies.
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure accurate and complete patient records.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Patient Access Representative Job At Adventhealth Is A High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education To Perform The Job Responsibilities Effectively.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Patient Access Representatives At Adventhealth Are Required To Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology. This Is Necessary To Accurately Communicate With Medical Professionals And Patients, As Well As To Accurately Enter Information Into The Hospital's System.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent Customer Service Skills Are A Must For A Patient Access Representative At Adventhealth. This Role Involves Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Communication, Problem-Solving, And Interpersonal Skills.
Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Always Required, Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Patient Access Representative At Adventhealth. This Could Include Experience In Medical Billing, Insurance Verification, Or Patient Registration. Such Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry And Its Operations.
