Job Description

As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for our patients by providing efficient and accurate registration, scheduling, and insurance verification services.   1. Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the registration system.
  3. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
  4. Schedule appointments for patients and assist with rescheduling or canceling appointments as needed.
  5. Explain hospital policies and procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have.
  6. Provide information on available payment options and assist with financial counseling as needed.
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely patient flow.
  8. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  9. Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and strive to resolve any issues promptly.
  10. Perform general office tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
  11. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  12. Keep up-to-date on insurance regulations and changes in policies.
  13. Work closely with clinical staff to ensure accurate and complete patient records.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards patients, coworkers, and visitors.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and provide the best possible experience for patients.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Patient Access Representative Job At Adventhealth Is A High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education To Perform The Job Responsibilities Effectively.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Patient Access Representatives At Adventhealth Are Required To Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology. This Is Necessary To Accurately Communicate With Medical Professionals And Patients, As Well As To Accurately Enter Information Into The Hospital's System.

  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent Customer Service Skills Are A Must For A Patient Access Representative At Adventhealth. This Role Involves Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Communication, Problem-Solving, And Interpersonal Skills.

  • Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Always Required, Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting Is Highly Desirable For A Patient Access Representative At Adventhealth. This Could Include Experience In Medical Billing, Insurance Verification, Or Patient Registration. Such Experience Demonstrates An Understanding Of The Healthcare Industry And Its Operations.

  • Attention To Detail: Patient Access Representatives At Adventhealth Are Responsible For Accurately Entering And Verifying Patient Information, Insurance Details, And Medical Records. This Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Information Is Entered Correctly And Patients Receive The Proper Care And Services.
