- Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner as they enter the facility.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing them with excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Obtain and verify patient information, including personal and insurance information, and enter it accurately into the electronic medical records system.
- Schedule appointments for patients and assist with managing their appointments, including rescheduling and cancellations.
- Educate patients on the registration process and ensure all necessary forms and consents are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals for services.
- Collect and process payments from patients for services rendered.
- Coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and timely check-in process for patients.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the patient access process and provide feedback for process improvement.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a positive and efficient patient experience.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices and industry changes.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing whole-person care and promoting the mission and values of AdventHealth.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Access Representative Must Have A Basic Level Of Education To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Understand Medical Terminology.
Customer Service Experience: As The First Point Of Contact For Patients, A Patient Access Representative Must Have Excellent Customer Service Skills To Provide A Positive And Welcoming Experience For Patients And Their Families.
Knowledge Of Insurance And Billing Processes: A Patient Access Representative Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Insurance Policies And Procedures, As Well As Billing And Coding Practices To Accurately Collect And Verify Patient Information.
Computer Proficiency: Due To The Use Of Electronic Health Records And Other Technology, A Patient Access Representative Must Be Comfortable And Proficient In Using Computer Systems And Software.
