We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team and be the first point of contact for our patients. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients have a seamless and positive experience from the moment they walk through our doors.   1. Greet and welcome patients in a warm and friendly manner as they enter the facility.
  2. Serve as the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing them with excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  3. Obtain and verify patient information, including personal and insurance information, and enter it accurately into the electronic medical records system.
  4. Schedule appointments for patients and assist with managing their appointments, including rescheduling and cancellations.
  5. Educate patients on the registration process and ensure all necessary forms and consents are completed accurately and efficiently.
  6. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals for services.
  7. Collect and process payments from patients for services rendered.
  8. Coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and timely check-in process for patients.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities to improve the patient access process and provide feedback for process improvement.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a positive and efficient patient experience.
  12. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices and industry changes.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to providing whole-person care and promoting the mission and values of AdventHealth.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Access Representative Must Have A Basic Level Of Education To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Understand Medical Terminology.

  • Customer Service Experience: As The First Point Of Contact For Patients, A Patient Access Representative Must Have Excellent Customer Service Skills To Provide A Positive And Welcoming Experience For Patients And Their Families.

  • Knowledge Of Insurance And Billing Processes: A Patient Access Representative Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Insurance Policies And Procedures, As Well As Billing And Coding Practices To Accurately Collect And Verify Patient Information.

  • Computer Proficiency: Due To The Use Of Electronic Health Records And Other Technology, A Patient Access Representative Must Be Comfortable And Proficient In Using Computer Systems And Software.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Role Of A Patient Access Representative, As Any Errors In Patient Information Or Insurance Verification Can Lead To Delays In Treatment And Billing. Therefore, Strong Attention To Detail Is A Necessary Qualification For This Job.
