Job Description

We are currently seeking an OB Technician to join our team and play a vital role in our labor and delivery department. As an OB Technician, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our skilled medical professionals and support our patients during one of the most important moments in their lives.   1. Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the labor and delivery unit, ensuring it is clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  2. Support the medical team during labor and delivery procedures, including setting up equipment, gathering supplies, and providing assistance as needed.
  3. Monitor and record vital signs of patients in labor, including contractions, fetal heart rate, and maternal blood pressure.
  4. Provide emotional support and comfort to laboring mothers and their families.
  5. Assist with newborn care, including weighing, measuring, and bathing infants.
  6. Keep accurate and detailed records of patient care and procedures performed.
  7. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  8. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, ensuring a positive experience for patients and their families.
  9. Collaborate with other medical professionals to provide quality care and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  10. Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on current best practices and procedures within the labor and delivery department.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide education and information about procedures, treatments, and follow-up care.
  12. Report any changes in patient condition or concerns to the medical team promptly.
  13. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  14. Assist with ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families during their stay at AdventHealth.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by medical staff or department management.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp).

  • Completion Of A Certified Ob Technician Program Or Equivalent Training.

  • Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Labor And Delivery Department.

  • Strong Understanding Of Ob/Gyn Procedures, Instruments, And Equipment.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure And In A Fast-Paced Environment.
