  1. Assist in the preparation and delivery of patient meals, ensuring they meet all dietary and nutritional requirements.
  2. Maintain accurate records of patient meal orders and dietary restrictions.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare team to develop individualized nutrition plans for patients.
  4. Monitor and record patient food intake and report any concerns to healthcare team.
  5. Communicate with patients and their families regarding dietary needs and provide education on healthy eating habits.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area.
  7. Comply with all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  8. Keep up-to-date with current nutrition trends and research to provide the best possible care for patients.
  9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and make recommendations for dietary adjustments.
  10. Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies.
  11. Provide exceptional customer service and respond to patient and family inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  12. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
  13. Attend trainings and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in nutrition and patient care.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  15. Act as a role model for healthy eating habits and promote overall wellness within the hospital community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or A Related Field: A Nutrition Assistant Should Have A Strong Educational Background In Nutrition To Be Able To Understand And Communicate Complex Dietary Information To Patients And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Certification As A Registered Dietetic Technician (Dtr) Or Nutrition And Dietetics Technician, Registered (Ndtr): This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The National Standards For Nutrition And Dietetics Knowledge And Skills.

  • Experience In Healthcare Or Clinical Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Or Clinical Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Long-Term Care Facility, Is Preferred. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines: A Nutrition Assistant Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines, Including The Usda's Myplate, To Be Able To Develop And Implement Appropriate Meal Plans For Patients.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Nutrition Assistant, Effective Communication With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Team Members Is Crucial. Candidates Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Well In A Team.
