- Greet and welcome new mothers and their families to the Maternity Care Center with warmth and compassion.
- Verify patient information and ensure accuracy of medical records for expectant mothers.
- Coordinate with medical staff and insurance providers to obtain necessary authorizations and paperwork for the birth process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the birth registration process for newborns.
- Communicate with expectant mothers to provide information about the birthing process, answer questions, and address any concerns.
- Assist with the admission process for expectant mothers, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure a smooth and efficient labor and delivery process for expectant mothers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including stocking necessary supplies for the Maternity Care Center.
- Provide emotional support to new mothers and their families throughout their stay at the hospital.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA regulations, to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge of current birthing practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and medical records, to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient information.
- Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff to ensure effective communication and resolution of any issues or concerns.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the overall birth experience for patients.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, promoting a culture of excellence and compassion within the Maternity Care Center.
Knowledge Of Maternity Care Procedures: A Maternity Care Center Birth Clerk Must Possess A Thorough Understanding Of The Labor And Delivery Process, As Well As Postpartum Care For Both Mother And Baby. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Medical Procedures, Terminology, And Potential Complications.
Excellent Organizational Skills: As A Maternity Care Center Birth Clerk, You Will Be Responsible For Maintaining Accurate Records And Ensuring That All Necessary Paperwork Is Completed In A Timely Manner. This Requires Strong Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail.
Electronic Medical Record (Emr) Experience: Most Healthcare Facilities, Including Adventhealth, Use Electronic Medical Records To Store Patient Information. A Birth Clerk Should Have Previous Experience Working With Emrs, Or Be Able To Quickly Learn And Adapt To New Systems.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Role Of A Birth Clerk Involves Interacting With A Variety Of People, Including Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Insurance Companies. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Providing Excellent Customer Service And Maintaining Positive Relationships With All Parties Involved.
