  • Oversee a team of documentation specialists and provide guidance and mentorship to ensure accuracy and integrity of clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance documentation quality
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical documentation to ensure compliance with coding and documentation standards
  • Develop and deliver educational programs and training for healthcare providers to improve documentation practices and promote accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation
  • Stay up-to-date on industry coding and compliance standards and ensure team members are trained on any updates or changes
  • Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for coding and compliance related inquiries and issues
  • Monitor and analyze data related to documentation integrity and provide reports and recommendations for improvement to leadership
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of electronic health record systems and ensure they are utilized effectively for documentation purposes
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle and coding departments to ensure accurate coding and billing practices
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and promote a strong focus on quality patient care through accurate clinical documentation
  • Train and onboard new team members and provide ongoing support and development opportunities for current team members.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Health Information Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement, Preferably In An Acute Care Setting.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (Cdip) Certification.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Cms Documentation And Coding Guidelines, As Well As Icd-10-Cm And Pcs Coding.

  • Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Train And Mentor Cdi Staff And Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams.
