
Laboratory Assistant

- Perform a variety of laboratory tasks, including sample processing, specimen handling, and data entry, while adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all laboratory processes by carefully following instructions and maintaining attention to detail.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to comply with safety and infection control standards.
- Assist healthcare professionals in the collection and preparation of samples for testing.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues as needed, and report any malfunctions or deviations.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of laboratory results.
- Keep updated records of all tests performed and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills by participating in training programs and staying informed about advancements in laboratory technology.
- Demonstrate compassionate and professional behavior towards patients, families, and team members.
- Adhere to all safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
- Actively participate in department meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the laboratory manager or supervisor.
Associate's Degree In A Scientific Field Or Completion Of A Certified Laboratory Assistant Program.
Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Procedures.
Proficient In Using Laboratory Equipment And Conducting Tests Accurately.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Follow Written And Verbal Instructions.
