We are currently seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our dynamic laboratory team. As a Histology Technician, you will play a crucial role in accurately and efficiently preparing tissue samples for diagnosis and treatment. To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and be a certified Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Additionally, you should have at least one year of experience in a histology laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.   1. Accurately and efficiently process tissue samples for diagnosis and treatment, following established protocols and procedures.
  2. Perform routine and specialized histology techniques, including tissue embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  4. Utilize quality control measures to ensure accuracy and consistency of results.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures and results.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of results.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  8. Stay current with new developments and advancements in the field of histology and implement best practices in daily work.
  9. Train and mentor new laboratory staff as needed.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate, whole-person care to all patients.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines.
  12. Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.
  13. Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
  14. Meet productivity and efficiency standards while maintaining quality and accuracy of work.
  15. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of histology.
  16. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by laboratory management.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Biology, Or Related Field

  • Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) Through The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Histology Laboratory Setting

  • Strong Knowledge Of Histology Techniques, Equipment, And Protocols

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Information Systems And Ability To Accurately Record And Report Results.
