- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families as they enter the emergency department.
- Assist medical staff with patient care, including taking vital signs, performing basic medical procedures, and monitoring patient status.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety and comfort of patients.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and their families to ensure timely and accurate information is relayed.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as industry standards, for patient care and safety.
- Keep detailed and accurate patient records, including documenting procedures, treatments, and medications administered.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and efficient care to patients.
- Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations, following proper protocols and procedures.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in emergency care.
- Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and compassionately.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Requirement For An Ed Technician At Adventhealth, Candidates Should Have A High School Diploma Or Ged.
Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Certification: Adventhealth Prefers Candidates With An Active Emt Certification, As It Demonstrates A Basic Understanding Of Emergency Medical Procedures And Protocols.
Bls And/Or Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For An Ed Technician At Adventhealth. These Certifications Showcase Proficiency In Life-Saving Techniques And Procedures.
Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Always Required, Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As As A Medical Assistant Or Nursing Assistant, Is Preferred For An Ed Technician Position At Adventhealth. This Experience Demonstrates A Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Equipment.
Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Working In An Emergency Department Can Be Chaotic And Fast-Paced. Therefore, An Ed Technician Should Be Able To Multitask, Remain Calm Under Pressure, And Work Efficiently In A Constantly Changing Environment. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Also Essential In This Role.
