  1. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families as they enter the emergency department.
  2. Assist medical staff with patient care, including taking vital signs, performing basic medical procedures, and monitoring patient status.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety and comfort of patients.
  4. Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and their families to ensure timely and accurate information is relayed.
  5. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as industry standards, for patient care and safety.
  6. Keep detailed and accurate patient records, including documenting procedures, treatments, and medications administered.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and efficient care to patients.
  8. Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations, following proper protocols and procedures.
  9. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in emergency care.
  10. Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and compassionately.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Requirement For An Ed Technician At Adventhealth, Candidates Should Have A High School Diploma Or Ged.

  • Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) Certification: Adventhealth Prefers Candidates With An Active Emt Certification, As It Demonstrates A Basic Understanding Of Emergency Medical Procedures And Protocols.

  • Bls And/Or Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For An Ed Technician At Adventhealth. These Certifications Showcase Proficiency In Life-Saving Techniques And Procedures.

  • Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Always Required, Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As As A Medical Assistant Or Nursing Assistant, Is Preferred For An Ed Technician Position At Adventhealth. This Experience Demonstrates A Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Procedures, And Equipment.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Working In An Emergency Department Can Be Chaotic And Fast-Paced. Therefore, An Ed Technician Should Be Able To Multitask, Remain Calm Under Pressure, And Work Efficiently In A Constantly Changing Environment. Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Also Essential In This Role.
