- Provide compassionate and efficient care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Assist in triaging patients and obtaining medical histories.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
- Prepare and maintain patient treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Administer basic first aid and perform basic medical procedures such as wound care and splinting.
- Assist with patient transfers and transportation within the hospital.
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Stock and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members, providing clear and concise information.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Uphold the mission and values of AdventHealth in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the medical team or supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For An Ed Technician Job At Adventhealth Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform The Job Duties.
Certification Or Training In Emergency Medical Services: Adventhealth Prefers Candidates Who Have Completed A Certified Training Program In Emergency Medical Services. This Provides Them With The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Provide Emergency Care In A Fast-Paced Environment.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Bls Certification Is Required For All Ed Technicians At Adventhealth. This Certification Ensures That Candidates Are Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques, Such As Cpr, Which Are Crucial In Emergency Situations.
Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting: While Not Required, Prior Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Particularly In An Emergency Department, Is Highly Valued By Adventhealth. This Experience Demonstrates A Candidate's Ability To Handle The Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment Of An Ed.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Ed Technicians At Adventhealth Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Medical Staff. This Includes The Ability To Remain Calm And Composed In High-Pressure Situations And Effectively Communicate With Individuals From Diverse Backgrounds.
