  1. Perform cytology testing and analysis with accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Contribute to the accurate diagnosis and treatment plans of patients.
  3. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while handling samples and conducting tests.
  4. Maintain and operate laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  5. Keep accurate records of all testing procedures and results.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  7. Stay updated on industry advancements and new techniques in cytology testing.
  8. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain the highest level of testing standards.
  9. Follow all quality control procedures and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  11. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  12. Handle all samples and patient information with confidentiality and respect.
  13. Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
  14. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  15. Assist in the training and supervision of new laboratory staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Cytotechnology Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Cytotechnology Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For A Cytology Technologist Position At Adventhealth.

  • Certification As A Cytotechnologist: Applicants Should Possess Current Certification As A Cytotechnologist From A Recognized Certifying Agency, Such As The American Society Of Cytopathology.

  • Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: Adventhealth Prefers Candidates With Prior Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Specifically In The Field Of Cytology.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures: Cytology Technologists At Adventhealth Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Techniques For Preparing And Analyzing Specimens.

  • Attention To Detail And Strong Analytical Skills: As Accuracy Is Critical In Cytology, Candidates Must Possess Strong Attention To Detail And Analytical Skills To Effectively Identify And Report Abnormal Cells.
