
Credentialing Coordinator, Medical Staff

- Oversee the credentialing process for all medical staff, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure all necessary documentation and information is collected and maintained for each individual's credentialing file.
- Conduct thorough background checks, license verifications, and other necessary screenings to ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with various departments and external organizations to obtain and verify required credentialing information.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff, management, and other relevant parties to provide updates on the status of credentialing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credentialing processes and ensure all files are properly organized and easily accessible.
- Monitor and track expiring credentials and proactively work towards timely renewals to avoid any lapses in provider privileges.
- Identify and escalate any potential issues or discrepancies in the credentialing process to management for resolution.
- Stay current with industry trends and changes in credentialing requirements to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements as needed.
- Uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information related to providers' credentials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with medical staff and other stakeholders to facilitate a smooth and efficient credentialing process.
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of new providers, including reviewing and explaining credentialing requirements and expectations.
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure that providers' credentials are accurately reflected in electronic medical records and other relevant systems.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding credentialing and accurately document all processes and procedures.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve knowledge and skills related to credentialing.
Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Medical Staff Credentialing, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Credentialing Requirements And Standards Set By Accrediting Bodies Such As The Joint Commission And Ncqa.
Excellent Organizational Skills And Attention To Detail.
Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Physicians, Hospital Staff, And External Agencies.
