As a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records, ultimately improving the quality of patient care.   1. Review and analyze medical records to identify gaps in documentation and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain additional information and clarify documentation as needed.
  3. Educate and train healthcare providers on proper documentation practices to improve overall quality and accuracy of medical records.
  4. Utilize coding and clinical expertise to accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes.
  5. Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify and address compliance issues.
  6. Communicate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure alignment and consistency in documentation practices.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations related to clinical documentation integrity.
  8. Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in implementing solutions.
  9. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  10. Serve as a resource for healthcare providers and staff on documentation best practices.
  11. Collaborate with coding and billing teams to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  12. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to clinical documentation integrity.
  13. Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to stay informed on organizational updates and initiatives.
  14. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of work performed.
  15. Uphold the organization's mission, vision, and values in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  16. Provide exceptional customer service and promote a culture of compassion and innovation within the organization.
  17. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
  18. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (Ccds) Or Registered Health Information Technician (Rhit) Certification.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Clinical Documentation Improvement In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Icd-10 Coding And Reimbursement Methodologies.

  • Excellent Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Identify And Resolve Documentation Discrepancies And Improve Documentation Processes.
