1. Perform daily tasks in accordance with established safety and infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment for patient care.
2. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and instrument washers, ensuring proper functioning and documentation.
3. Inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments and equipment for use in procedures, following manufacturer guidelines and departmental policies.
4. Maintain accurate records of all sterilization processes and equipment maintenance, including tracking expiration dates and lot numbers.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments and equipment for surgical procedures.
6. Follow established protocols for handling and disposing of contaminated materials and equipment.
7. Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of sterile supplies and notify supervisor of any shortages.
8. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly stored and labeled.
9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on industry standards and best practices.
10. Comply with all AdventHealth policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, related to sterile processing.
11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

13. Assist with inventory control and ordering of supplies as needed.
14. Act as a resource for other staff members and provide guidance on proper sterilization techniques.
