- Perform daily sterilization and decontamination of medical equipment and supplies according to established protocols and standards.
- Inspect, assemble, and package instruments and supplies for use in medical procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely delivery of sterile equipment to patient care areas.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
- Operate and maintain sterile processing equipment, troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Keep accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.

Completion Of An Accredited Sterile Processing Technician Training Program: A Certified Sterile Processing Technician At Adventhealth Must Have Completed An Accredited Training Program That Covers All Aspects Of Sterile Processing, Including Decontamination, Sterilization Techniques, And Infection Control Protocols.
Certification From A Recognized Organization: Adventhealth Requires Its Sterile Processing Technicians To Hold A Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (Iahcsmm).
Knowledge Of Sterile Processing Equipment And Techniques: Candidates For A Certified Sterile Processing Technician At Adventhealth Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Various Types Of Sterile Processing Equipment And Techniques Used In The Healthcare Setting, Including Steam Sterilization, Ethylene Oxide Sterilization, And High-Level Disinfection.
