  1. Greet and welcome patients and their families with a warm and friendly attitude.
  2. Assist in scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
  3. Prepare treatment rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  4. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant information from patients.
  5. Administer medications and assist with minor medical procedures under the supervision of a physician.
  6. Provide education and instructions to patients and their families regarding their care and treatment plans.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  8. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  9. Perform basic laboratory tests and accurately record results.
  10. Assist with medical coding and billing procedures.
  11. Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
  12. Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities.
  13. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  14. Adhere to all AdventHealth policies and procedures.
  15. Uphold the organization's mission to deliver compassionate and exceptional healthcare services.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Medical Assistant Program: A Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) At Adventhealth Should Have Completed An Accredited Program In Medical Assisting. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Proper Training In Clinical And Administrative Tasks.

  • Certification From A Recognized Agency: Adventhealth Requires Cmas To Hold A Valid Certification From A Recognized Agency Such As The American Association Of Medical Assistants (Aama) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Competency Standards.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Outpatient Care: A Cma At Adventhealth Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Outpatient Care, Including Working With Patients Of All Ages, Managing Appointments And Referrals, And Providing Basic Medical Treatments And Procedures.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Cma, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Building Relationships With Patients, Providers, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Being Able To Communicate Effectively In Both Verbal And Written Forms.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Working In An Outpatient Setting At Adventhealth Can Be Fast-Paced And Demanding. A Cma Should Have The Ability To Multitask Efficiently And Remain Calm Under Pressure While Still Providing High-Quality Patient Care.
