  1. Accurately code medical records using established coding guidelines and standards.
  2. Ensure compliance with all applicable coding regulations and guidelines.
  3. Review and analyze medical records to identify coding errors and discrepancies.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to resolve coding-related issues.
  5. Stay up-to-date on coding regulations, guidelines, and industry changes.
  6. Communicate effectively with insurance companies and other third-party payers to resolve coding-related issues.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of coding-related policies and procedures.
  9. Train and educate other team members on coding best practices and updates.
  10. Participate in audits and quality assurance initiatives to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  11. Provide support and guidance to physicians and other healthcare providers on coding-related matters.
  12. Utilize coding software and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve coding processes to ensure optimal performance.
  14. Serve as a resource for coding-related questions and concerns.
  15. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of AdventHealth while promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Possession Of A Certified Coding Credential: A Certified Coder At Adventhealth Must Have A Nationally Recognized Coding Certification Such As The Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Or Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs).

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Coding Guidelines: A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Coding Guidelines Is Essential For A Certified Coder At Adventhealth To Accurately Assign Codes To Medical Diagnoses And Procedures.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Health Records (Ehr): Adventhealth Utilizes Electronic Health Records, So A Certified Coder Must Be Proficient In Navigating And Coding Within An Ehr System.

  • Understanding Of Hipaa Regulations: As A Healthcare Organization, Adventhealth Adheres To Strict Hipaa Regulations. A Certified Coder Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of These Regulations To Ensure Patient Information Is Kept Confidential.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: The Role Of A Certified Coder At Adventhealth Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Accuracy. A Successful Candidate Must Have The Ability To Review And Analyze Medical Records To Ensure That Codes Are Assigned Correctly.
