In this role, you will be responsible for driving 3M's advocacy strategy and engagement with key stakeholders at the federal, state, and local levels to advance our business priorities and positively impact communities across the United States. As a successful candidate, you will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of government affairs, and a passion for building relationships and advocating for change.   1. Develop and implement 3M's advocacy strategy at the federal, state, and local levels to advance business priorities and positively impact communities across the United States.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including legislators, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to advance 3M's goals.
  3. Monitor and analyze legislation, regulations, and policies at all levels of government to proactively identify potential opportunities and risks for the company.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams to gather and synthesize information on key issues and develop advocacy plans to address them.
  5. Represent 3M at government hearings, meetings, and events to advocate for the company's interests.
  6. Prepare and present briefings, reports, and other materials to senior leadership and other stakeholders on government affairs initiatives and developments.
  7. Serve as the main point of contact for government officials and agencies, and respond to inquiries and requests for information in a timely and effective manner.
  8. Build and manage a team of government affairs professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure successful execution of advocacy efforts.
  9. Develop and manage the government affairs budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to achieve desired outcomes.
  10. Stay up-to-date on political landscape, industry trends, and best practices in government affairs to continually improve and adapt 3M's advocacy strategy.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Political Science, Public Policy, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Government Affairs Or Advocacy, Preferably In A Corporate Setting.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of The Us Political Landscape And Understanding Of Key Issues And Policies Relevant To 3M's Business.

  • Proven Track Record Of Successfully Influencing Government Policies And Regulations Through Effective Advocacy Strategies.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Key Stakeholders, Including Government Officials, Industry Associations, And Community Leaders.
