Job Description

The Zendesk Custom Data team is looking for a proven backend engineer with experience in large scale systems to help craft and build our next-gen custom data platform. Put the customer first and have quality in mind. Collaborate with different teams to build a new platform to unlock our data extensibility for our customers. Work closely with product management when new features are being considered by being an advocate for not impacting the performance or quality of the existing product. Participate in technical discussions and communicate your ideas or vision to others. You thrive in taking care of sophisticated problems, open to debates and brainstormings. Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, and support advocates to estimate and prioritize units of work.

Job Qualifications

At least 5 years of proven background in building, scaling and operating large backend infrastructures
Experience with Ruby is a plus
Experience with agile development processes, working in a fast-paced environment with continuous integration.
An ability to review and understand an unfamiliar language would be preferred.
