  1. Develop and implement strategic media relations plans to effectively promote and enhance the reputation of Yale University.
  2. Proactively identify and pitch newsworthy stories to local, national, and international media outlets.
  3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers to ensure positive coverage of Yale University.
  4. Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other materials to promote university events, initiatives, and achievements.
  5. Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on the university's media presence and reputation.
  6. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to gather and disseminate information to the media.
  7. Serve as a media spokesperson for the university and coordinate media interviews with faculty, staff, and students.
  8. Stay up-to-date on media trends and adapt strategies accordingly to ensure maximum impact.
  9. Develop and maintain crisis communications plans and protocols.
  10. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment within the media relations team and across the university community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Media Relations, Preferably In A Higher Education Or Non-Profit Setting.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Craft Compelling Messages And Press Releases.

  • Strong Relationships With Local, National, And Industry Media Outlets.

  • Ability To Work Independently, Manage Multiple Projects And Deadlines, And Collaborate Effectively With Cross-Functional Teams.
