- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance Yale's presence and impact in the Western Hemisphere region.
- Lead and shape Yale's engagement with Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships and collaborations with institutions, governments, and organizations in the region.
- Stay informed and knowledgeable about the cultural, political, and economic landscape of the Western Hemisphere.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the region.
- Collaborate with other departments and offices at Yale to promote international initiatives and opportunities in the region.
- Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students working on international projects and partnerships in the Western Hemisphere.
- Develop and manage the budget for the Western Hemisphere initiatives at Yale.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations in all activities related to the Western Hemisphere region.
- Represent Yale at conferences, events, and other gatherings in the region.
- Monitor and analyze trends and developments in the region and provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership at Yale.
- Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the Office of International Affairs and in all partnerships and collaborations in the Western Hemisphere.
- Serve as a spokesperson for Yale in the region and promote the university's mission and values.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of professionals to support the work of the Office of International Affairs in the Western Hemisphere.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness and impact of Yale's initiatives in the region.
- Collaborate with other universities and international organizations to develop joint programs and initiatives in the Western Hemisphere.
- Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in international affairs and incorporate them into Yale's initiatives in the Western Hemisphere.
- Work with the communications team to promote and publicize Yale's activities and achievements in the region.
- Act as a liaison between the Office of International Affairs and other departments and offices at Yale to ensure coordination and collaboration.
