1. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance Yale's presence and impact in the Western Hemisphere region.
2. Lead and shape Yale's engagement with Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada.
3. Build and maintain strong partnerships and collaborations with institutions, governments, and organizations in the region.
4. Stay informed and knowledgeable about the cultural, political, and economic landscape of the Western Hemisphere.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the region.
6. Collaborate with other departments and offices at Yale to promote international initiatives and opportunities in the region.
7. Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students working on international projects and partnerships in the Western Hemisphere.
8. Develop and manage the budget for the Western Hemisphere initiatives at Yale.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations in all activities related to the Western Hemisphere region.
10. Represent Yale at conferences, events, and other gatherings in the region.
11. Monitor and analyze trends and developments in the region and provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership at Yale.
12. Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within the Office of International Affairs and in all partnerships and collaborations in the Western Hemisphere.
13. Serve as a spokesperson for Yale in the region and promote the university's mission and values.
14. Recruit, train, and manage a team of professionals to support the work of the Office of International Affairs in the Western Hemisphere.
15. Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness and impact of Yale's initiatives in the region.
16. Collaborate with other universities and international organizations to develop joint programs and initiatives in the Western Hemisphere.
17. Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in international affairs and incorporate them into Yale's initiatives in the Western Hemisphere.
18. Work with the communications team to promote and publicize Yale's activities and achievements in the region.
19. Act as a liaison between the Office of International Affairs and other departments and offices at Yale to ensure coordination and collaboration.
