As the first point of contact for patients, the Clinical Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring efficient operations within the clinic.   1. Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Schedule appointments and maintain an organized and accurate appointment calendar.
  3. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, providing information on clinic services and procedures.
  4. Check-in patients, verify insurance coverage and personal information, and collect co-payments.
  5. Maintain patient records and update information as needed.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate patient flow.
  7. Process and file patient paperwork, including insurance forms and medical records.
  8. Coordinate with other departments within the hospital to facilitate patient care.
  9. Ensure clinic waiting area is clean and organized.
  10. Assist with administrative duties such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  11. Communicate with patients about any delays or changes in their appointments.
  12. Handle patient complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  13. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  14. Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
  15. Continuously strive to improve customer service and clinic efficiency.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: A Strong Candidate For This Position Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Dermatology Clinic. This Will Demonstrate Their Familiarity With Medical Terminology, Patient Care, And Administrative Tasks Specific To A Healthcare Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Dermatology Procedures And Treatments: Yale University's Dermatology Clinic Is A Fast-Paced Environment, And The Clinical Receptionist Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Common Dermatology Procedures And Treatments. This Will Enable Them To Accurately Schedule Appointments And Answer Patient Inquiries.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As The First Point Of Contact For Patients, The Clinical Receptionist Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Staff Both In Person And Over The Phone.

  • Strong Organizational And Multitasking Abilities: The Clinical Receptionist Will Be Responsible For Managing A Busy Schedule Of Appointments, Maintaining Patient Records, And Completing Other Administrative Tasks. Therefore, They Should Have Strong Organizational Skills And The Ability To Multitask Efficiently.

  • Proficiency In Medical Software And Technology: Yale University's Dermatology Clinic Utilizes Various Electronic Medical Records Systems And Other Technology To Manage Patient Information And Appointments. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Familiar With These Systems And Have A Good Understanding Of Basic Computer Skills.
